The proposed stadium will feature a 500-seating capacity, multi-purpose playing fields, basketball and volleyball courts, and modern amenities such as locker rooms, showers, a medical center, administrative offices, and floodlights for evening events.

During a site inspection at Government Secondary School, Hon. Simbabi Mohammed Garba, Member representing Toto/Gadabuke Constituency at the Nasarawa State House of Assembly, expressed his deep commitment to the project, which he had envisioned since 2014.

“This is a project I conceived in 2014 before I became a legislator, and I am glad it has now gotten the approval of the Governor,” Hon. Garba stated. He emphasized that the stadium aims to create a hub for sports training, community engagement, and economic growth.

Hon. Garba also shared that the project’s strategic location near Abuja and Lokoja is expected to attract visitors and generate revenue for the state. “We are here for a site inspection to secure a more convenient setting for constructing the facility.

We have now been allocated the Toto Central Primary School, a Government facility by the Onah of Toto and other stakeholders concerned,” he added. He further assured that the groundbreaking ceremony would occur soon, as the current administration prioritizes the timely completion of the stadium.

The Inspection team, which included representatives from the State Ministry of Youth and Sports, Nasarawa State Geographic Information Service (NAGIS), and other key stakeholders, collectively approved the proposed site. Additionally, the lawmaker, who also serves as the House Committee Chairman on Youth and Sports Development, led the team to the Palace of the Ohinoyi of Ogye, HRH Alh. Muhammad Umar Azaki, to inform him of the development and seek his royal blessings.

The State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Jafaru Ango, is expected to brief Governor Abdullahi Sule soon on the plans to construct four additional sports facilities across selected areas in the state.
