The Chairman of the Nasarawa State Football Association, Alhaji Salisu Usman Galadima, was present alongside board members to witness the thrilling final of the 5th Edition of the Young Unity Cup in Uke, Karu LGA.
The event drew dignitaries from various sectors to witness the clash between New Nyanya Pirates and D11 FC.
New Nyanya Pirates secured victory with a sublime finish from Abubakar Sule in the 23rd minute, establishing their dominance over D11 FC.
Despite D11’s efforts in the second half, New Nyanya Pirates held their ground, ultimately claiming the coveted trophy.
Expressing his satisfaction with the teams’ sportsmanship spirit, Alhaji Salisu Usman Galadima commended both sides for their exemplary conduct before, during, and after the game.
He pledged his attendance at the 6th edition, emphasizing his commitment to witnessing both the opening and closing ceremonies.
In a generous gesture, Salisu Usman Galadima rewarded the champions with a cash prize of one hundred thousand naira (N100,000), while the first runners-up received fifty thousand naira (N50,000).
The organizers of the Young Unity Cup presented a signed Unity ball and a basket of Kolanut to the FA Chairman of the state during the ceremony.
Dignitaries in attendance included Oruma Musa, representing the Honorable Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Hon Jafaru Ango, Vice Chairman NSFA Alhaji Ibrahim Adamu Shigafarta (Majekiran Keffi), Samson Joseph (Karu Referee Chairman), and Board Members Akeusola Segun and Atu Yepwi (all from Karu).
Local Government FA Chairmen for Karu, Nasarawa Eggon, and Keffi LG also graced the occasion.
