The Amazons wasted no time asserting themselves, as Bello opened the scoring just two minutes into the game with a brilliant strike. Akekoromwei Janet then stole the spotlight with a rapid-fire hat-trick, netting goals in the 3rd, 5th, and 24th minutes to hand Nasarawa a comfortable 4-0 lead going into halftime.
In the second half, Mathias Josephine added a fifth goal to seal the rout. With the result virtually secured, Nasarawa Amazons switched to a more possession-oriented style, delighting the crowd with fluid, tiki-taka football.
Head coach Christopher Danjuma expressed satisfaction with the team’s performance. “We created plenty of chances early on and took them well. Our focus remains on building a cohesive team and qualifying for the Super Six,” he said.
Confluence Queens’ Technical Adviser, Coach Sabo Okala, admitted his side was second-best on the day. “Nasarawa Amazons were clearly the better team. We struggled with communication and concentration, which cost us. They’re a strong side and can go far if they maintain this form,” he acknowledged.
Nasarawa Amazons will take on Ekiti Queens in their next fixture on Matchday 12, scheduled to hold in Ibadan.
