The incident occurred on Tuesday night around 10:00 pm at his residence in Gwarimpa Estate, Abuja. Anyansi-Agwu, who is also the longest-serving chairman of Enyimba International FC, was attacked by armed robbers who reportedly stole his car, cash, jewelry, phones, and other valuables worth millions of naira. The robbers left him injured, but he is currently in stable condition and receiving medical care.
Reacting to the incident, NALCOMA President, Godwin Enakhena, condemned the attack, describing it as “barbaric and unfortunate,” especially given its occurrence in a high-security area like Gwarimpa.
“This is a tragic and unacceptable event,” Enakhena said. “Chief Anyansi is a beloved figure who spreads love wherever he goes. We thank God for sparing his life and that of his family. Security agencies must urgently track down the perpetrators and ensure justice is served.”
The matter has been reported to the police, and investigations are underway. Enakhena further urged the police and other security agencies to intensify efforts to apprehend the culprits and prevent such incidents in the future.
