The Ikenne based club who finished second at the NPFL Championship play-offs took their blistering form into the game at the Eket Stadium in Akwa Ibom as they emerged victorious in another rivalry classic against Ibadan based outfit, 3SC run riot with a 3-0 scoreline.
“I am not surprised that ever since that it’s been proclaimed the Southwest derby, it’s either we win or draw,” Junior stated in an exclusive interview with Sports247 in a look back at the game.
“The goal margin wasn’t really expected because in a normal Southwest derby, I was thinking of a narrow 1-0, 2-1 win or probably share the spoils but that’s that with that big victory for us.”
“We just finished playing the Super Six and we have been on competitive games while they have been on break since the league ended, we partook in the NPFL championship play-offs but they had rested so we had that advantage over them,” Nduka Junior admitted.
