The president of Nigeria women football league side, Naija Ratels FC of Makurdi, Barrister Paul Edeh came to the rescue of a dying female football player of Royaltoms Football Club of Lagos by paying fully for her medical bills and surgery.
” I do not need to know an individual or club side personally to reach out to them.
Immediately my attention was drawn to her health condition which if prompt attention is not given could be life threatening, I had no option but to take charge fully as far as finance was concerned in her case”
Barr. Paul Edeh further explained that Titilayo the player was scared as well as her family members having been told it involved surgery and had spent whatever resources they had seeking alternative means before now.
The Coach of Royaltoms Football Club Olajide Royal was appreciative of the kind gesture of Barr Paul Edeh
” He surprised me with his instaneous response and didn’t stop at that but followed up before and after the surgery with the patient.
The surgery was on Friday and was successfully, she is recuperating” He stated.
” It shows that such a man will take keen interest in the welfare and medical concerns of his players at Naija Ratels” Coach Royal concluded.
It will be recalled that the Naija Ratels boss surprised the NWFL with a visit to the secretariat in Abuja some weeks back with donations of office equipment and over 3 dozens footballs for the effective running of the NWFL various leagues.
