Friday Abu, captain of Team North West stated exclusively with Sports247.ng following their 1-0 loss to North Central FC in 1st semi-final contest at the NAFF Zonal Conference Amputee Football Championship.
Friday expressed disappointment over his team’s defeat but affirmed “It is painful for us, though we appreciate God for everything. This was not an easy match for us but in football, there must be a champion and vanquished. ”
He continued “We are privileged to have contested an exemplary match. The goal our opponents scored was an error from our defender. Had that not occurred, the match would have ended in a draw, with no tallies from either side. We were confident that if regulation time ended scoreless, we would have prevailed in extra time but the match did not unfold as anticipated. ”
North West shall vie for third place in tomorrow’s final match and Friday is optimistic they shall triumph.
