NAFF Zonal Amputee Championship 2023: Michael Joel Applauds Talent Discovery Platform As He Tasks Federation Consistency In Organizing More Competitions

Tanzania 2021AFCON Nigeria national team representative, Michael Joel has applauded the talent discovery platform made available by the Nigeria Amputee Football Federation through the ongoing NAFF Amputee Championship as he tasks the body for consistency in organizing more competitions for development and growth of the game.

The Imo State born amputee football player represents the North Central geo political as he played the full time in his side nervy 1-0 win against South South on matchday 1.

“I’m so excited about our victory even though I didn’t score a goal but as a striker, we are always hungry for goals but one of the things that’s so important is to get the team winning so I’m elated that we won the match and we got the three points to stand top in our group,” Michael said of his team’s win after the nervy 1-0 victory against South-South in an exclusive interview with Sports247.ng.

“I have been playing Amputee Football all my whole life and it’s been a long way for me trying to survive in the situation of Nigeria’s economy.”

“The Nigeria Amputee Football Federation has gone a long way to equally expose us to the public eyes through this championship because a lot of African countries have been playing this game for a long time even though Nigeria has started for quiet a while too but bringing up this initiative keeps the players fit for international games like our friendly matches, African Cup of Nations and other games.”

Speaking on how far his team can go in the competition, ” I believe we can go all the way to the very end and come first because we are united with a common goal of victory and that’s the motivation.”

“They should do more of this to keep us in form for those of us who take this as our life career, those of us who put our interest in the game for survival,” Michael pleaded.
