NAFF, Nigeria Amputee Football Federation has agreed to partner Rotary Club of Ikeja Alausa in celebrating Rotary Day of Service / Peacebuilding and Conflict Preservation month.
Rotary Club of Ikeja Alausa under the Leadership of Dr. Tonna Ofuasia is planning to organize a peaceful novelty football match aimed at drawing the support of young people in the need for a peaceful election in Nigeria in 2023.
The Nigeria National Team, The Special Eagles will be part of the Novelty Peace Match at the Olusosun Playing Ground, Olusosun Primary School off Kudirat Abiola Way, Lagos. Saturday, 18 February 2023 from 7:30 to 9:00 am.
The Rotary Club Of Ikeja Alausa President expressed her delight with the partnership, “We are excited with this partnership, Rotary Day of service this year is a special thing to us where we need to tell Nigerians that peace is what everyone of us should embrace ahead of the upcoming election.
“This month in Rotary calendar is what is called peace building and conflict prevention month and having us to quickly put up this novelty match and partnering with NAFF means together, we can preach the message of peace to the youth and to the entire Nigeria.”
“We are happy that this body has identified with us, it’s a going to be a great day. The campaign is an initiative we want to spread across Nigeria. We must embrace love.”
NAFF President Paul Maduakor communicated his happiness likewise, “the federation this year is going to be involved in lot of activities just to put the players in top year.”
“This year, we know every 14th is a day of love and we are putting up an exhibition match at the National PADINGTON MINI STADIUM, BEHIND STADIUM HOTEL,SURULERE, LAGOS.
This is to preach the message of love on that day and we are putting everything in place to create that atmosphere for everyone.”
“When we got the invitation from Rotary knowing fully well what Rotary stands for, a global brand talking about peace, what better way than to partner with an organization like Rotary.”
“That’s why we are going to be involved in the novelty match and also in the campaign for peaceful election,” Maduakor assured.
The organizers allayed that it seeks to bring together business executives, religious and youth leaders, entertainers, and people from various fields of human endeavor for a joint effort for societal change.
