He stated that his team’s victory was due to their discipline throughout the game, even with the red card as well as playing according to his tactics and instructions. He also commended the efforts of his goalkeeper as well for keeping the opposition at bay to ensure the victory.
“I am very much satisfied with the performance of my players. They gave their all in the game, after being given a red card in the first half. My players were very disciplined. Even after the red card, we had to switch from 4-3-3 to 4-4-1 formation and the players were very disciplined and followed my tactical instructions till the very end of the game. The game was tough, as we expected because we know that Ijebu United was a good side and being a man down, it became harder for us”.
“I also commend our Goalkeeper, Alabalotu. He brought his A-game in the match, as he won us this game by making some great saves in the match”.
While still speaking, the passionate Gaffer took some time out to commend the MVP of the match, his team’s Captain, Fagbayi Semiu for his great performance in the game, describing the player as a LEADER in the team, as he has now won the MVP award for two consecutive matches now for his team (Gbagada Fc)
“I will like to commend Fagbayi Semiu for his impressive efforts and winning back to back MVP award for two straight games now. He is our Captain for a reason and a leader on and off the pitch. He gives his best anytime they call on him and I am glad that things are working fine for him. He is that very hardworking player that trains so hard and wants the best for himself and his teammates. So him winning back to back MVP awards is not something we are surprised about, but overall, I am glad that we got the win today.
Finally, Coach Olajide Akinyelu admitted that hard work and determination have been the key factor for his team’s run so far in the league, but on and off the pitch.
The Win for Gbagada Fc now sees them amassing 9 points so far, while Ijebu United with the loss, are still on 5 points.
