Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia star, Ahmed Musa has described the death of his mother as the worst day of his life, as the former Kano Pillars, VV Venlo of Holland, CSKA Moscow of Russia and Leicester City of England forward mourned openly, sports247.ng reports.
The Super Eagles’ stand-in captain stated that he has lost the hearty woman who stood by him through thick and thin, with his four older sisters, while he was growing up, supporting his hopes of becoming a soccer star without a father.

Musa’s father was a Muslim from Borno State, but his mother, Sarah Moses, the second wife, was a Christian from Sabon-Gida Ora, Edo State.
Musa and his siblings had a hard time after their father passed away, but they weathered the storm, as Sarah did everything for her children.
She raised five children with dignity and gave the world a new football legend, as she supported his desire to become a professional football player after the boy’s abilities and talent began to manifest.
She single-handedly brought up the Super Eagles player and his four sisters after her husband died, yet Musa had to grow up early and take on the responsibility of the family’s breadwinner.
In September 2013, Musa’s mother was hospitalized after robbers struck her late at night in his home in Jos, Plateau State.
Musa disclosed then that the gunmen, numbering about ten, entered his home close to Plateau State Government House in the posh Rayfield area at few minutes past 11pm.
The fleet-footed Eagles’ star said they attacked hit mother, hit her on the head with gun, then carted away cash and valuables.
In 2017, Sarah graced the unveiling of a N500m sports fitness centre in Kano, built by her son, where she described Musa as a philanthropist who has touched so many lives with his wealth.
In September 2018, Musa scripted a wonderful message to his mum on Instagram and shared photos of her, as he appreciated her for raising him and taking good care of him after his father’s death.
In October 2018, Musa opted to skip his club’s league match, as he was keen on seeing his mother, who was said to be ill.
He has to travel by road from Kano to Jos, after returning from the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier away to Seychelles, in which he led Nigeria for the second straight match as stand-in captain.
This past Wednesday, news emerged that Musa was home in Nigeria, as he had been ruled out from action with his club due to injury.
The 26-year-old revealed that his mother was receiving intensive care at a hospital in Abuja.
Sadly, Musa’s mother passed on few hours after he posted a prayer for her on Twitter.
Musa wrote: “I am sure being tucked in bed is not the best thing you know to do. All your children are waiting for you to get out of bed and say ‘I am back in action’. Get well soon Sweet Mum!❤️.”
But, it was not to be, as he soon added another post, revealing the most agonizing piece of news, stating: “What a sad day of my life, just lose my mum.” A horde of reactions followed, wishing her perfect rest in peace.
