The number of Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan players in the national U-23 team camp has increased to four with the invitation of Taye Muritala, sports247.ng reports.
Muritala, a right back was called up by coach Imama Amakapabo and has since left the camp of the Oluyole Warriors to team up with the Dream Team in Abuja.
According to the Media Officer of Oluyole Warriors, Tosin Omojola made it known sports247.ng on Monday that Muritala will be joining the trio of Ayobami Junior, Anas Muhammed and Gbadanosi Badmus who have been sweating it out for places in the U-23 team.
Before departing for Abuja, Muritala who was in action when the Oluyole Warriors battled Ekiti United to a goalless draw in Ado Ekiti on Tuesday, said he was happy being given an opportunity to showcase his talent in the national team.
”I’m very happy for this great opportunity and I see it as a chance to make a headway in my career.
“I’m going to Abuja not to make up the number but to fight my way into the final squad,” said the soft spoken defender who also promised to be a good ambassador of Shooting Stars in the national team camp.
