The Nigerian winger, Moses Simon found the back of the net from the penalty spot but Nantes were pegged back by Dijon in a 1-1 draw.
Nantes had relieved Christian Gourcuff of his duties as head coach last Tuesday after a poor run of results.
Under interim manager, Enache Costea, Moses Simon started in a three-man attack for the Canaries alongside Renaud Emond and Marcus Regis Coco.
Edmond was fouled in the opposition’s box by Jonathan Panzo which handed Nantes the chance for an opener.
Simon stepped up and converted the spot-kick in the 24th minute to put the home side ahead. It was his second goal of the season.
Senegal international Moussa Konate then leveled proceedings for Dijon in the 54th minute after he was set up by Gabon international Ibrahim Ndong.
The game ended 1-1 as both teams shared the spoils. The result keeps Nantes in 14th position in the Ligue 1 table with 14 points in as many games.
