Chelsea winger, Victor Moses might get a look in for a couple of matches this month, as The Blues’ gaffer, Maurizio Sarri has admitted his options are short on the flanks at Stamford Bridge.
Sports247.ng gathered that, although all fingers are pointing in the direction of Moses leaving Chelsea this month, the pendulum appears to be swinging back in his direction due to a handful of injuries.
The latest of those issues is from Olivier Giroud’s ankle injury, and though Sarri says that will not force him to get a striker in the January transfer window, he will have to take a closer look at his wingers.
Sarri said he remains pleased with his options up front in Alvaro Morata and Eden Hazard, but admitted he has to start looking closer at what he is blessed with down the flanks, which brings Moses into the picture.
The Italian gaffer also admitted that he has a selection headache on the flanks, with Pedro and Callum Hudson-Odoi unavailable due to hamstring injuries, such that Moses could get a look in along the line this month.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek is also struggling with a back problem and was a big doubt for Chelsea’s home league meeting with Southampton.
“Now we are in trouble with Pedro out, Hudson-Odoi out and Loftus-Cheek is a midfielder but can play as a winger in two-three matches.
“So I have options for the striker, but at the moment I have no option for the wingers,” Sarri concluded.
