Fenerbahce of Turkey winger, Victor Moses has been exonerated from any dip in form in the Istanbul derby against Besiktas, as the former Super Eagles star’s coach, Ersun Yanal said he only yanked the star off in order to change his tactics during the game.
Speculation has risen over Moses’ future with The Yellow Canaries, since he was replaced at half time of the encounter that ended 3-3, but Yanal has now explained that it was not because of any poor performance in the first half of the derby on Monday night.
Sports247.ng reports that Fenerbahce scored three goals in 12 minutes of the second half, romping back from 3-0 down to force Besiktas into a six-goal thriller at Vodafone Park.
Although Moses appeared to struggle during the game, Fernebahce’s coach has spoken out to absolve the winger, who is on loan from Chelsea of England, saying it was a tactical move that caused his replacement.
Yanal said: “I did not bring Moses or Isla out of the game because they played badly, the team needed a change.
“We have players with international experience, and we need them to react.”
