“Well, you can say that again, more than excited,” Johnson began. She explained that the victory aligns with their goal to make a mark in the premiership, not just to participate. “This win, the three points, actually will take us from the fifth position before the match, up there,” she added, indicating a rise in the league standings.
Johnson also shared the team’s strategic approach to the game. Knowing they needed to defeat Confluence Queens by at least three goals to break into the top three, the team aimed to score multiple goals. “We have this at the back of our mind. We are actually thinking of three or four goals,” she said.
Despite the game’s unpredictability, Johnson emphasized the importance of the three points they secured. “The most important thing is the three points which we’ve gotten and we’ll continue to work towards this,” she stated.
Looking ahead, Johnson expressed optimism about their next match against Niger Ratels. “If we can get a point, then definitely we come out on our own targets,” she concluded.
This victory brings Dannaz Ladies a step closer to their target – the Super Six. With their strategic planning and determination, they continue to be a team to watch in the NWFL.
