The Elective Congress of the Nasarawa State Football Association held today at Alheri Guest House, Nassarawa-Eggon Council Area, has unanimously re-elected Alhaji Mohammed Alkali, for the period 2019-2023, sports247.ng can report.
In his acceptance speech, the FA Chairman also known as S.K and doubles as Nationwide League One Independent Chairman said:
“I feel truly humbled by this victory today. It is, indeed, a historic day both in my life and football development in the State.
“Here is the time to work together to ensure that the State’s football remains united, that Nasarawa State’s football remains respectful, respectable and respected, and that we continue to display solidarity, togetherness and bring hope.
“I thank all the delegates who have reposed confidence in my leadership to warrant me and my board’s re-election.
“We promise to introduce another brand of leadership that will be all-inclusive and result-oriented.”
Also re-elected unopposed are the Vice Chairman, Haladu Akwashiki, Usman Idris, Ahmed Mohammed Bello, Sallau Zubairu, Samaila Kongo, Suleiman Usman Bako, and Awalu Bello as board members, Eche Amos informs
The observer from the Nigerian Football Federation(NFF) and Chairman, Niger State Football Association, Comrade Ahmed Yusuf Fresh( Freshahmed Ahmed), said he was satisfied with the process of the elective congress and wished the new board success in the tasks ahead.
Nineteen delegates were drawn from the thirteen Council Areas of the State(made up of the various FA Chairmen), Players’ Union, Nasarawa United FC, Nasarawa Amazons FC, Coaches’ Association, Referees’ Council, and Aklosendi International FC made up the electorate.
Presenting the re-elected officials with Certificate Of Return, the electoral chairman, Abdullahi Mohammad Mohammed, Esq. said the new board, having fulfilled the requirements of the law, stood re-elected, as he congratulated them on their victory.
This is Alkali’s third term in office as FA Chairman in Nasarawa State. He was first elected in 2011 and got re-elected in 2015
