The Ministry Of Youth and Sports Development under the leadership of Mr. Sunday Dare has continued break grounds in grassroots sports and youth development.
The Minister, Thursday, led officials of the Ministry in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding with the Nigerian Tulip International college (NTIC) in Abuja. The MoU will see the adoption of 20 talented young boys and girls who will undergo world standard training with an all education and sports scholarship in the Nigerian Tulip International College.
Speaking at the event, the Minister expressed appreciation for the partnership which he said coincides with the mandate of his administration in the development of young talents.
“We are happy that the NTIC shares the same vision with us, not just only that but the fact that they are proactive to give life to it which is the reason we are here today.
“It is most important that these young ones are Nigerians. We are happy to see them benefit from your hundred percent scholarship scheme. The flavor of this to us, is that we have pushed that sports and education must move together, it has worked in other countries and Nigeria won’t be an exception.” The Minister added.
The Managing Director of NTIC, Mr. Fevzullah Bilgin in his response, described Mr. Sunday Dare as visionary Minister and said beneficiaries would be given nothing but world class training.
Young talents to be captured in the MoU include those from the National Youth Games held in last year in Ilorin among others.
Those present at the signing include; the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Gabriel Aduda, Directors, special assistants Minister, the Principal and officials of NTIC, the Director of N- Youth Sports Academy among others.
