Minister of Arts, Culture and Creative Economy, Hajia Hannatu Musawa, has emphasized the significance of nurturing grassroots football in Nigeria, citing it as the foundation for bringing together youth from diverse backgrounds in the spirit of camaraderie and mutual respect in sportsmanship.
She revealed that the role of grassroots football will provide a pipeline of talent while endorsing the 4th edition of Jagunlabi Football Tournament in Abuja.
The football competition which is sponsored by the Special Adviser to the Minister on Sub-national engagements, Barr. Abiola Abdulkareem to unite the people of the constituency.
The minister highlighted the importance of sports in promoting cultural exchange, youth development, and community engagement.
In her statement, Hannatu Musawa expressed optimism about the positive impact of this initiative on Nigerian football.
Her remarks underscore the collective effort to strengthen football at its grassroots, aiming to cultivate a rich pool of talent.

Hajia Hannatu Musawa was appointed by President Bola Tinubu in 2023, after serving as his Special Adviser on Culture and Entertainment Economy. She oversees the promotion and development of the creative sector in Nigeria, as well as the preservation and display of the country’s cultural heritage
