Several years ago, I got a new perspective. What do I mean? My mindset had a major shift. Prior to that time, I was inclined towards expending my energy in an unproductive manner. In other words, what governed my actions was an insatiable quest for money.
But I soon got to find out the bitter truth: _‘The more you pursue money, the farther it runs away from you.’_ I there and then decided to stop pursuing money; and focused on serving and adding value in a purposeful way.
What this implies is simply that I don’t just embark on a business because of the money I’m going to make from it. Rather, I ask the following questions:
1. What’s this business all about?
2. Who are the people promoting it?
3. What’s the business model?
4. Would it distract me from my major assignment in life?
5. In the long run, would I be happy that I joined this business?
These are a few of the questions I ask myself.
People who invest in businesses just for the financial returns don’t end up fulfilled. I’ve seen a few of these people and they’re usually unhappy.
Begin to scrutinize opportunities and business proposals based on three (3) critical factors namely, your purpose; is it in alignment with your values and last but not the least the economic viability.
Going forward; Mind Your Own Business.
