For the umpteenth time, KG sports Academy Agbor will see a change in the coaching crew as the pride of Agbor takes on Young Shall Grow Ibusa, in what promises to be a do or die battle for the Agbor Boys in their quest to qualify for the super 8.
Director of KG sports Academy, Dr Ken Gadaffi named Micheal Ekeh as interim Coach following the suspension of Head Coach Lasana Dukaray by the League Management Committee.
KG sports had earlier appointed Coach Player Kester Omashor to lead the team after the suspension of Coach Dukaray in the 1-0 loss against Lisbon FC, however, with injuries to some players, the Director has decided to recall Kester back to the playing squad for the crucial match hence the need for the Team Manager Micheal Ekeh to take charge.
“We find ourselves in really tight corner since the suspension of the Head Coach, we have to made do with what we have for now to see the season through and so the Team Manager will have to take charge of the team till end of the season as we need all the players available now” Ken Gadaffi Said from his base in Cambodia.
The Bet9ja-DFA League Management Committee slammed a fine of #20,000 and reduction of the indefinite suspension to 2 games touchline ban, however, the KG Director stated that his side couldn’t pay the fine and so the ban remains.
“We were given an option of paying #20,000 and reduction of the Ban to 2 games following our appeal, however, we declined to take this option because we are cash strapped and the Coach has already been moved to the U15s, we will manage with what we have for now as we have spent s a lot already in prosecuting this league to this point” Dr Ken Gadaffi explained.
KG Sports are currently 5th place in the Agbor Center, 6 points behind Young Shall Grow who are unbeaten in 6 games and top of the table. A win for the Agbor Boys will reduce the lead to just 3 points with 2 games to go. Youn Shall grow despite unbeaten are not certain of qualification as their last three matches are against rivals. They will play Alika FC who is 3 points behind and Mighty Wanderers who are in 3rd place and 5 points behind the leaders.
A win for Young Shall grow will all but ensure qualification with just two games to go.
