The conclusion of the Nationwide League One Division Two has seen certain teams move up the ladder by gaining promotion to the division one, the third tier league of men’s football in Nigeria and MFM is one of those.
With the men’s team of the club getting relegated from the top flight into the second division, the feeders led by coach of Team Lagos and former Stationary Stores boss, Adesina Yusuf, have given the management of the MFM aside something to smile about.
“I’ll like to thank the club director, General Overseer and the fans because they are the ones backing us to ensure we have a good team and we presented the youngest team so far in the history of the NLO,” Coach Adeshina Yusuf told Sports247.
With the club making progress at the grassroot, coach Adeshina also stated that the NPFL La Liga U15 promises tournament held months back produced some of the lads who represented the club in the NLO2 despite writing their West African Examination Certificate (WAEC).
“Most of our U15 boys that played the La Liga U15 promises, about six of them were drafted into the feeders and they did very well as we won three, lost one and drew one game to gain promotion,” the coach said.
“I’ll let the MFM board decide what happens next for the team but I believe we will continue in the NLO so we can keep the boys together as they are very young and many of them are still writing their WAEC,” he concluded.
