Vandrezzer FC’s much-anticipated friendly matchup against MFM FC ended in a goalless draw at the Agege Stadium on Tuesday.
Having made some changes from the 2-1 win over Team Lagos on Sunday, it took a while for VFC to find feet at the Soccer Temple.
The first real chance at goal was when Ivo Junior had a shot saved by MFM goalkeeper Jerry Isaac.
The Lions of Naija, with an improved performance from last Sunday’s match against Team Lagos, had the highest number of shots on target (6) – with Ivo contributing four.
Substitute Udom Ekerette was involved in most of the talking points after his introduction in the second-half but couldn’t break the deadlock for Vandrezzer. The giant player defended and attacked bullishly, and had one of his shots saved by the MFM goalie just before the final whistle.
A draw was a fair result for both teams – with coach Rafael Everton fine-tuning his team’s preparation ahead of our upcoming NNL campaign.
MFM now face Kwara United in their next game, while VFC’s NNL opener against Delta Force – which was billed for this weekend has been postponed till next week.
