Lagos based amateur one club, Messiah Football Club of Ikeja have sent a strong warning to all teams ahead of Manufacturer’s Cup which kicks off October at Agege Stadium, Lagos.
Messiah FC have commenced early preparation ahead of Manufacturer’s Cup as the amateur one club played four friendly matches within two weeks without a defeat.
Messiah FC walloped Magecco FC of Agege 3-0, and the same result recorded against Toma FC who are also playing in Manufacturer’s Cup.
Messiah current form ushered them invitation to participate in one day pre-season friendly match organized by Coach Ahua Stephen recently at Skypower football pitch, Ikeja.
Messiah FC played goalless draw with Vining United in their opening match and played 1-1 with Yobo FC to maintain their unbeaten run.
Team Manager of the club, Deji Beecroft while addressing the players recently said he was impressed with the performance of the team in their friendlies and charged the players and coaching crew to continue to give their best before the competition proper.
“I am proud of you [players] for the job well done in your friendly matches. We are getting better and we can still do better if all hands are on deck. Our results and performances at the recent friendlies showed that the team are in progress and like I said we can be better if we all work hard together, “he said.
In their responses, Messiah coaches, Tude Olayinka and Anthony Ushurhe admitted that the team are getting better but noted that there are some grey areas they need to work on ahead of Manufacturer’s Cup and other high profile football competitions.
