Ogunbameru, who is playing 4 handicaps, scored 70 Net to emerge the overall winner of the tournament.
Ogunbameru said: “I feel so much excitement and all thanks to God and my caddy (my wife) for giving me the opportunity to come and play and win this tournament.
“When you talk about golf, you cannot win without your caddy, you have to plan together and know what you want to do on the golf course and plan ahead of playing a better shot.
“My secret is game management. You need game management in playing good golf. My caddy and I plan and agree on game management and this is the result.
“My next target is the Tiger Open coming up in December. I will like to defend my title once again, having been a former champion,” he said.
The Incoming Captain of the Club, Mr. Ibironke, said his management team will deliver, promising to work on the achievement of his predecessor with the help of members of his executives.
“My being the 24th Captain of IGC is ordained by God. It’s part of what I’m meant to fulfill in life because I never wanted to play golf, talk less of becoming the captain. As a fact, I was forced to join the club by my very good friend, Prince Bayo Adeleke.
“My team, the new executive committee, and I trust we have made the right choices by sticking together and staying up for each other. We have started on a good note. Let the beats go on,” he said.
Also, the Lady Captain, Mary Okunola, thanked the sponsors of the tournament and the Ladies section of the Club for the kind gesture.
