MASVI Cycling Race: LOC Meets Council Boss To Fine Tune Preparation

Ahead of this Saturday’s MASVI Invitational Road Race in Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State, the Local Organizing Committee, led by Hon. Odion Daniel Iruobe, this evening assured the Council Chairman, Hon. Frank Ilaboya of their readiness for a hitch free Cycling race.

Hon. Iruobe, who doubles as the Chairman of the Local Organizing Committee and Council Secretary gave this assurance during a meeting with the Council Chairman to fine tune preparation for the much talked about cycling race, which will be flagged-off by His Excellency, the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu this Saturday in Sabongidda-Ora, the administrative headquarters of the LGA.

He expressed optimism that the Committee will not just ensure a memorable event, but will also make the Council proud in the competition that will witness the participation of eight States of Nigeria.

The Committee Chairman addressing the Council Boss at the meeting which was graced by Mr. Osaretin Emuze, the Chairman of National Cycling Commissaires of Nigeria and Mr. Patrick Omorodion, a member of the Executive Committee,
assured that all arrangements have been put in place to ensure a successful outing is recorded, saying, “ Mr. Chairman, I want to assure you of our preparedness for this historic event, being the first of its kind in this LGA. Flowing from our experience at the just concluded Edo Sports Festival, where we clinched 2nd position, be rest assured that at the end of this cycling exercise, pleasant stories about it will be told for a very long time.

The Council Chairman, commending the Committe’s efforts so far, charged them to ensure they do their best in the weekend’s cycling race, adding that, ” I expect that this Committe will make the local government proud. You must work round the clock to ensure the MASVI Invitational Cycling race takes place as planned.
” We must remain motivated and inspired. Do not give room for any distraction.”

Recall that, Ogun, Lagos, Anambra, Rivers, Oyo, Delta, Cross River and Edo have all registered for the road race which is the first competition in Cycling calender in 2020.
