In a landmark moment at the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (NIQS) Annual General Meeting in Port Harcourt on Friday, November 29, Mallam Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the National Sports Commission, was conferred as a Fellow of the NIQS (FNIQS).
This honor represents the highest professional membership grade within the esteemed institution.
Reflecting on the achievement, Mallam Dikko described the occasion as the culmination of a professional journey spanning over 35 years.
“This is a great and important milestone. I am deeply honored to be recognized as a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Quantity Surveyors,” he stated.
Mallam Dikko extended his gratitude to QS Kene C. Nzekwe, FNIQS, the NIQS President, and the entire board for their recognition of his contributions to the profession and public service.
His professional accomplishments have been instrumental in advancing quantity surveying in Nigeria, cementing his place as a respected figure in the industry.
He also paid tribute to his elder brother and mentor, Mallam Hussain Dikko, FNIQS, Chairman of ProvidusBank, who served as President of the NIQS from 2000 to 2002 and held other significant roles within the organization.
“The mentorship and support of my elder brother have been invaluable. His guidance prepared me for this honor and many other professional achievements,” Dikko noted.
Mallam Dikko concluded by expressing gratitude to God, emphasizing, “May God in His infinite mercies continue to make things easy!”
