The official report indicated that Mailantarki Care supporters engaged in unsavoury behaviour during the Conference D encounter.
The fans harassed and intimidated match officials, encroached onto the pitch, and threw missiles at them—a clear violation of articles 16.1, 16.4, and 27.1.3 of the NNL frameworks.
Dr Ayo Abdulrahman, Chief Operating Officer of the NNL, expressed dissatisfaction with the incident and warned Mailantarki Care that stiffer sanctions would be imposed if such behaviour repeats. The league emphasizes maintaining a standard of conduct both on and off the pitch.
Mailantarki Care is required to pay the one million Naira fine on or before their next game scheduled for January 6, 2024. Failure to comply may lead to additional penalties.
Chief Coach Sulaiman Usman, Club Secretary Adamu Usman, and Club Coordinator Auwal Kamuwa of Mailantarki Care have been handed a two-month ban from NNL activities.
This penalty is a consequence of their involvement in spearheading attacks on match officials during the aforementioned incident.
The Nigeria National League’s firm stance against misconduct by clubs and their supporters is evident in these penalties.
The league prioritizes the fair and respectful conduct of all stakeholders involved in NNL matches, emphasizing the importance of upholding the integrity of the competition.
