Secretary General of the Nigeria Volleyball federation, Adamu Maikano has assured that the sitting Volleyball Federation will get financial support from the Ministry of Sports.
Maikano said that Volleyball is a sport that they is creating awareness and as such, investment will come in to make it more popular.
“Volleyball in Nigeria has grown in leaps and bounds over the last 12 months in Nigeria. It can only get better,” Maikano said in a telephone conversation with Sports247.ng.
“The athletes have been well engaged, the programs designed for them have been well followed and they are happy with the developments.
“The Sport need proper funding and support to consolidate. It is something that is very important for development.”
“The Ministry of Youths and Sports have tried in making sure that funds are released as at when do aid the programs of Volleyball in Nigeria. More financial resources is needed to ensure wider coverage of Volleyball in Nigeria.”
