The organizers of the inaugural Love Nature Academy Swimming Championship hosted the event with the goal of unearthing hidden swimming talents in Lagos and the surrounding areas.

This competition, held at the Lagos Country Club in Ikeja, attracted the participation of over 200 children from various swimming clubs.
The championship featured young swimmers competing in multiple categories, including freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly, and relay events.
The event aimed to inspire swimmers of all age groups and skill levels to engage in competitive swimming within a supportive and secure environment, emphasizing values like teamwork.
Abimbola Ifeoluwa, Head Coach of Love Nature Swimming Academy, expressed the academy’s vision to establish an inclusive swimming institution focused on maximizing the potential of individual swimmers and making swimming an integral and enjoyable aspect of participants’ lives.
Babajide Egbele, the Sports Secretary of Lagos Country Club, emphasized the potential of the Love Nature Swimming Academy Championship to identify and nurture young swimming talents that could represent Nigeria in future international competitions.
He highlighted the importance of introducing children to swimming from a young age, as it is a vital foundation for developing future athletes.

Egbele called for the Aquatic Federation of Nigeria to incorporate the competition into their official calendar.
He also stressed the need for more sponsors to invest in and support initiatives that encourage children to take up swimming as a sport.
One of the aspiring young swimmers, Ireola Adesina, shared her vision of representing Nigeria at international championships in the future.
The championship recognized outstanding swimmers by awarding prizes and medals.
The Love Nature Academy Swimming Championship serves as a promising platform for discovering and nurturing emerging swimming talents and fostering a love for the sport among the youth of Lagos.
