Super Eagles goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye has completed a late summer switch to Serie A outfit Udinese on a four-year deal, the club has officially announced.
The former Sparta Rotterdam shot-stopper arrives from Watford FC and has signed a contract that will run until 30 June 2027.
An explosive goalkeeper gifted with great physicality and excellent technique, Okoye already boasts international experience with the Nigerian national team and in top-level championships such as the Championship and the Dutch Eredivisie.
He began his career with Bayer Leverkusen youth academy at a very young age where he remained until 2017 until he moved to Fortuna Dusseldorf where, in 2017/2018, he played 13 games for the under 19 and 5 with the second team in the German fourth division.
In the following year, he was permanently promoted to the second team playing 15 games and training steadily also in the first team.
The 19/20 season sees him on the field 14 times with the second team of Fortuna with which he stands out earning the call of Sparta Rotterdam in the Eredivisie.
In his first year, in 20/21, he immediately started playing 29 matches between the championship and the national cup, showing off unusual skills confirmed in the 31 matches played in the following year, that of his definitive consecration.
In fact, he earns a call from Watford which takes him to England where he lived last season.
Maduka Okoye is permanently in the Nigerian senior national team with which he collected 16 appearances making his debut in 2019 in the friendly against Brazil.
In black and white he will wear the number 40 shirt.
