The city of Ibadan agog this morning as more than thirty kids from age of 4 to 16 years stormed the summer camp of MAIDSTONE Football Academy at the Lead British Secondary School, Pitch, Maja Street, Jerico, Ibadan, Oyo State.
The summer camping which commenced today would last for two weeks as ex-internationals such as Dele Adeleye and Mutiu Adepoju are expected to be around during the period of the summer camping.
Chairman of MADESTONE Sports Services, Olubiyi Oluwatobiloba told sports247.ng on phone early today that he was impressed with the numbers of kids that came to the summer camping saying that they are still expecting more kids in days to come.
“I can tell you that we have received more than thirty kids and I am still expecting more entries before this week runs out. This is our programme and we are expecting more kids from various schools, academies, and parents and guardians to bring your wards who are interested in the round leather game,” he said.
Oluwatobiloba said the kids were impressed with the facilities put in place. He however commended the kids for their football artistry displayed on day one of the summer camps.
He further explained that the summer camp is an opportunity for young footballers who want to know more about the rudiment of the game. He also revealed that the summer camp would develop the skills of the young lads under the right coaches in the right environment.
“Our registration fee is N35,000 per child and we have informed interested schools, parents, and guardians, to come and register their wards for the summer camp and I am happy with the responses we got from them. So far so good, we have received more than thirty kids today and I still believe that more kids are still coming for registration,” he said.
Oluwatobilola confirmed that during the summer camp, ex-internationals like Mutiu Adepoju and Dele Adeleye are expected to educate, talk and share their footballing career with the kids. He added that certificates of participation and medals would be awarded to every child after the summer camp.
“Of course, we are giving certificates of participation to the participants in line with international standards”. Olubiyi who is also a UEFA C licensed coach from the English FA will be leading the training sessions and promised fun, engaging, and interactive training sessions throughout the summer camp.
