Coming quickly on the heels of the inauguration of its seven standing committees, Lagos State Football Association, has set up an adhoc committee to oversee the development and growth of female football in the state.

In a statement revealing its plans for female football, Chairman of Lagos State Football Association, Hajji Gafar Liameed, disclosed that the FA have decided to up the ante by working with a coterie of experienced, passionate and resourceful female football administrators and investors, to give fresher and elevating breath of air to the female football in Lagos State.
The membership of the LSFA Women Football Adhoc Committee, includes, Alhaja Rofiat Abdulsalam as the Chairperson. Others are Princess Bopo Oyekan, Director Service Matters, PSO; Barrister Beverly Agbakoba Onyejianya, a sports lawyer, arbitrator and mediator.
Also on the illustrious list are Bukola Alabi, Founder Kidsport; Tega Onajalfe – Founder Ladies in Sports and Sports Presenter; Barrister Doyin Aina, CEO of Bulls Sports Limted and Dannaz Nazzal, Founder/CEO Dannaz Ladies FC and Ivory Health Sport Club.
According to the press release, the terms of reference for the committee are gender based. Particularly, exposing more girls to the game through football tournaments for primary, secondary and tertiary students, thereby, increasing visibility for the game.
The committee would also organise conferences for girls within that age group where the opportunities embedded in the sports for females will be exposed. And these conferences will also include inviting our super falcons and other football female heroes to come and mentor and address the girls.
It would also try to forge partnerships with corporate or non corporate bodies that will be interested in the sport, as well as, to focus on a major objective and slogan that will attract sponsorship, brand and help headline the work of the committee.
