On Tuesday, the board members of the Lagos State Football Association (LSFA), led by Chairman Hajji Gafar Olawale Liameed, convened with Hon. Lekan Fatodu, the Director-General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, at his Teslim Balogun Stadium office.
The meeting aimed to enhance the synergy and collaboration between the State FA and the Sports Commission, which oversees sports activities in Lagos State.
In his opening remarks, Hajji Gafar expressed his gratitude towards Hon. Fatodu for his efforts in improving sports in Lagos.
He stressed the board’s desire for a fruitful partnership with the Sports Commission to foster the development of football in the state.
Responding to Hajji Gafar’s remarks, Hon. Fatodu praised the positive energy and commitment of the LSFA board towards advancing football in Lagos.
He assured the State FA of the Sports Commission’s continued support and collaboration, emphasizing their shared goal of enhancing the state’s football ecosystem.
The meeting also touched on the upcoming President Federation Cup finals, set to be hosted in Lagos, known as the Centre of Excellence.
Hon. Fatodu promised that the Sports Commission would work closely with the State FA to ensure that the finals are a grand and glamorous event, displaying the excellence for which Lagos State is known.
The finals are scheduled for Saturday at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos.
The men’s final will see Abia Warriors from Abia and El-Kanemi Warriors from Maiduguri face off, while the women’s final will feature Naija Ratels and Rivers Angels competing for honors.
