Chairman of the Lagos State Football Association, Hajji Gafar Olawale Liameed, (LSFA) has sent out a heartfelt congratulatory and celebratory message to Nigerians, home and in diaspora on the special occasion.

In his press statement, Hajji Liameed, enjoined Nigerians, particularly the Muslim faithfuls, to take to heart, the lessons and virtues of the special month of Ramadan, to be their neighbour’s and brothers’ keepers and to be selfless in dire times.
Renowned for his uncommon love and support for youth development and empowerment, Liameed admonished that the month is not only for fasting, but moments for spiritual reflection and growth.
In the past two decades, Hajji Liameed through his 36 Lion Investment and in conjunction with other partners have seen hundreds of discovered, developed and exposed talented Nigerian youthful footballers through several grassroots football scouting programmes, getting the platforms to excel.
Liameed in the message, enthusiastically remarked that the board of the LSFA, would continue to ensure that the local game grows bigger in all of its ramifications.
He acknowledged that the game of football, is currently facing challenges, particularly, in terms of support and sponsorship.
“Despite the recent feats of Nigerian football on the continental and global stages, we’re still struggling with finances and the necessary supports, to develop and grow the game in Nigeria.
“We’d remain undaunted and unfazed. The LSFA, shall remain committed to the development and growth of game in Nigeria. And in tandem with the leadership of the National Sports Commission, and the Lagos State Sports Commission, football in Lagos State, shall continue to grow bigger, Liameed added.
Liameed concluded by enjoining Nigerians, home and in diaspora, to continue to pray for the unity, peace and growth of Nigeria, as he prayed, “may God almighty please have mercy on Nigeria.”
