Taiwo Oloyede, former Super Eagles player and LSFA Assistant Technical Director, shared his insights into the ongoing LSFA pre-season tournament.

His reflections were sparked by the intense quarter-final match between First Bank and Trade Safe, which ended 2-0 in favour of Trade Safe, marking First Bank as the first team to exit the quarter-finals.
In an interview with Sports247, Taiwo Oloyede lauded the LSFA’s technical committee for initiating this event, aimed at boosting the morale of Lagos State’s teams participating in the NLO and NNL.
The tournament boasted a significant turnout, with 16 teams showcasing their skills since its commencement.
While acknowledging the presence of scouts and agents at the tournament, Oloyede noted that their numbers would likely increase during the finals as they scouted for potential talents to take abroad.
Expressing his desire for national team scouts and handlers to witness the tournament’s talent, Oloyede said, “I would have loved if the national team handlers were here to see some talents to pick for the national team, both U-17, U-20 and the senior national team.”
Despite the absence of prominent scouts and agents during the earlier stages, he remained optimistic that they would attend the finals to identify and potentially take these talents abroad.”

He elaborated on the steps the technical team would take to ensure that all participating teams were well-prepared for the upcoming league season.
This process would involve a round table discussion where everyone shared their experiences, focusing on the displayed technical abilities. The aim was to identify areas needing improvement and subsequently provide guidance and advice to the teams.
Oloyede highlighted the critical role of experienced figures on the technical committee, such as chairman Hajj Gafar, Tajudeen Yusuf, Peter Rufai, Monday Kanu, Soji Benson, Yomi Kuku, and others, in finalizing observations and communicating them to the teams. The ultimate goal remained the growth and enhancement of Lagos State football.
