Swimming as a sport is usually placed at the back with little or no focus, support, and attention but Love Nature Swimming Academy have decided to organize a swimming competition to help bridge the gap.
The head coach of the academy, Ifeoluwa Abimbola, told Sports247 that the competition is aimed at identifying young talents for the country.
“It’s for age-group swimming, hoping to encourage all swimmers in Nigeria to come out, show their skills and compete in a conducive environment in a bid to help identify and showcase the good products,” Ifeoluwa said.
“This will help Nigeria to see good talents that have been hidden in some students and to encourage those lagging behind to world harder and do better,” she added.
The head coach also said the vision is to maximize the potential of swimmers among others.
“Our vision is to create an inclusive swimming academy, focused on maximizing the potential of individual swimmers and teach core values of discipline, teamwork, hard work, self-confidence and to make swimming an enjoyable part of our member’s life,” she said.
The competition is set to hold on the 25th of June, 2022, at the Lagos Country Club from 10:00 am.
