London City Lionesses have secured the signing of Nigerian international defender Rofiat Imuran on a three-year deal, marking a significant boost to their squad.
The 20-year-old arrives from French club Stade de Reims, where she made a notable impact in the Arkema Première Ligue.
During her time with Reims, Imuran played in 30 league matches, contributing eight goals—an impressive tally for a defender, showcasing both her defensive solidity and attacking prowess.
Imuran is also a prominent figure on the international stage, having represented Nigeria’s Super Falcons at the FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 in Australia and New Zealand.
Her experience in top-level international football adds further value to London City Lionesses’ lineup as they look to strengthen their ambitions in the English game.
Speaking about her move, Imuran expressed excitement, saying, “I’m very excited to join London City Lionesses and start a new chapter in my career in England.
Everyone has been so welcoming since I arrived, and I look forward to being able to help the team on the pitch.
I wanted to come to London City because the coach presented an interesting project, and I wanted a different challenge.”
Imuran could make her debut soon, as London City Lionesses are set to face Charlton Athletic at Hayes Lane on Sunday.
