Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka praised the outstanding performance of Nigerian women at the last All-African Games in Ghana, where they secured an impressive four gold, two silver, and seven bronze medals, ensuring Nigeria finished second overall behind Egypt in armwrestling.
“Our women have once again proven their dominance in sports, particularly in armwrestling. Their remarkable achievement at the All-African Games in Ghana speaks volumes about their strength, resilience, and determination,” Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka said.
He highlighted the names of Zannu Mausi, Winifred Ndidi Eze, Chika Blessing Nnenna, Ogunbure Blessing, Oyewusi Olubisi, Gloria, and Matthew Sarah as the champions who made Nigeria proud on the continental stage.
Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka also assured them that under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, their efforts will not go unnoticed.
“These women should be assured that they will be honored and rewarded beyond their expectations. President Tinubu’s administration values excellence in sports, and we will ensure their dedication is properly recognized,” he added.
As the Nigeria Armwrestling Open Championship progresses, Adeboye Anthony Adeyinka urged all female athletes to remain focused and inspired, knowing that their commitment to the sport will bring them both national recognition and international glory.
