Lobi Stars of Makurdi coach, Solomon Ogbeide has declared that his side will not give up on their hope of reaching the knock out stage of the CAF Champions League, as he says they will fight hard to garner all nine points that are remaining from their last three group matches.
Heading into next week’s phase two fixture away to Wydad Casablanca of Morocco on Tuesday, sports247.ng can report that Ogbeide is aiming at victory, as he says the Middle Belt club will revive their chances.
Ogbeide admitted it was a huge setback losing 1-0 at home to Wydad last weekend, but the veteran gaffer stressed that they will not put their tail in their legs nor throw in the towel just yet, since three games are left.
Ogbeide admitted it will be a tricky and testy outing for his side at Stade Mohammed V on February 12, but he insists the truncated 2018 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions will not give up just yet.
He added: “We have not given up hope yet. We have three more matches to fight for and those are nine points.
“So, it will be foolish of us to throw in the towel and give up when there’s a lot to fight for.”
