Soccer fans in Asaba, Delta State are in for extra thrills on Tuesday, as Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) have confirmed that this year’s Charity Cup match between Lobi Stars of Makurdi and Rangers of Enugu will hold right after the Super Eagles’ international friendly.
Sports247.ng reports that, while the Super Eagles will take on Uganda from at 4.30pm at Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, fans who turn up for the game will get a bonus of watching the Nigeria Super Cup as well.
The encounter, which is between Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) champions, between Lobi Stars and Federation Cup winners, Rangers will start 7pm at same venue.
Dramatcially, it will be a day of three-matches at the price of one, as fans at the stadium will also be thrilled to a curtain raiser before the Eagles’ take on The Cranes of Uganda, as ex-internationals will have a go against Nigerian league legends.
The curtain raiser at same venue will start at 2pm, with the like of Victor Nosa Ikpeba, Mutiu Adepoju, Victor Okechukwu Agali and Yisa Sofoluwe, among others, expected to dust their boots for an exhibition game.
For the main attraction itself, fans will be able to watch live the likes of Ahmed Musa, Alex Iwobi, William Ekong, John Ogu, Samuel Kalu, Isaac Success and Henry Onyekuru.
Also present in the Eagles’ squad is Delta State-born former Warri Wolves dazzler, Oghenekaro Etebo.
There is also the possibility that Gernot Rohr may name 2015 U17 World Cup winners, Victor Osimhen and Samuel Chukwueze in his squad.
