Still basking in the euphoria of the 1-0 victory over Kano Pillars that ended their 5 matches winless run, Lobi Stars are in Gombe, the adopted home of Adamawa United, fully prepared to return to Makurdi with the maximum points in an NPFL mid-week, matchday 12, on Thursday 25 February 2021
Adamawa United are clearly the weeping child of NPFL 2020/2021 as they have not recorded any victory since matchday 1, grossing a paltry 3 points best of 33 which goes to paint an abysmal performance index and trailing a distant last on the log.
Lobi Stars are yet to pick maximum points on the road in the 11 weeks old season, but can not afford to settle for anything less in the encounter against Adamawa United as they have lost 2 home games and drew 3 out of the 5 home games so far. Lobi Stars have resolved to cash in on the under the motivation of the team by Adamawa State Government and make capital out of it.
The pride of Benue were able to hand the host a defeat in the same venue in the 2019/2020 aborted NPFL season and are still re-envigorated to repeat the feat this season in grand style, in as much as they have neither fared well in the league.
Last weekend’s victory over Kano Pillars was a mark of return to winning ways. With 16 points from 11 games, a not good enough performance for a team that came in the league looking to a continental ticket. Lobi Stars need to double their efforts and refrain from allowing possible points on the road like this to elude them if their match-in wish is to be sustained.
