The management, staff, and players of Lobi Stars Football Club Makurdi have been in an Isolation training camp in Gboko shortly after they took COVID- 19 Test in the Benue State University Teaching Hospital Isolation Centre achieving 100% clean bill of health. The low keyed camping is gradually coming to an end with spiritual and philanthropic events lined up.
Last Sunday 1st November 2020, The team visited St. Michael’s Rectory Ameladu, in the suburb of Gboko where the Firebrand Rev Fr Emmanuel Asue presides for Thanksgiving service.
Relatively, the following day Monday 2nd November 2020, The Club paid a philanthropic visit to NKST Foundation Orphanage Mkar, another suburb of Gboko to donate food items and other daily needs to the orphans and also lift their spirit by identifying with them.
Receiving the team, The Accountant of the foundation Ms Patience Wuese Aande on behalf of The foundation Director Rev James Tor in an emotion-laden speech though overwhelmed with joy said, Lobi Stars Football Club is the first to individually or corporately visit the orphanage since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, Her happiness knew no bound as the visitors that break the inertia were those they never anticipated meeting entirely.
They head boy of the orphanage home was called upon to pray for the club, in his prayers, he committed the club into the hands of God for success ahead of the NPFL 2020/2021.
Responding, The team leader of Lobi Stars Football Club and General Coordinator Mr Sam Aindigh on behalf of The Executive Vice Chairman Mr Mike Idoko was full of gratitude for the warm reception accorded them by the management of the Orphanage and the prayers offered thereof. He further appreciates the friendly atmosphere of Gboko towards the club while the training camp last. He further went ahead to disclose to the orphans and the management of the Orphanage that, it is typical of Lobi Stars FC to give back in form of corporate social responsibility anywhere they encamp ahead of the season in the same manner of the visit.
In a telephone conversation with Lobi Stars FC media, The Executive Vice Chairman of Lobi Stars Mr Mike Idoko disclosed that The Thanksgiving service and the philanthropic visit to the Orphanage is not the end of the events, but will be climaxed by a dedication service in Dunamis Church Makurdi on Wednesday 4th November 2020 after which the team will depart to Port Harcourt on Thursday 5th November 2020 for Gov Nyesom Wike preseason tournament 2020.
