Lobi Stars of Makurdi are set to face Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa this Friday without three key players that helped them reach the group stage of the CAF Champions League.
Sports247.ng can reveal that on arrival at Enugu, where they will host The Brazilians this Friday at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Lobi Stars were without the trio of Anthony Agbaji, Samad Kadiri and Sikiru Alimi.
Lobi Stars arrived at The Coal City on Wednesday afternoon, with coach of the side, Solomon Ogbeide promising they will do better than their last match against Gor Mahia of Kenya last month.
The Pride of Benue, though will be without the services of their vice-captain, Anthony Agbaji as well as striking duo of Samad Kadiri and Sikiru Alimi, who have all traveled abroad to join foreign clubs.
In their place, Ogbeide will be happy to line out former Enyimba of Aba stars, Dare Ojo and Sunday Adetunji, while vibrant midfield battler, Kelly Kester is back, after missing the second tie versus Gor Mahia with injury.
Friday’s match, which will begin at 5pm, will be have Egyptian referee, Ghead Zaglol Grisha at the centre.
