The Nigerian league organizers, League Management Company (LMC) has approved and rearranged the matchday 22, NPFL 2020/21 fixture between table toppers, Akwa United F.C and sixth-placed, Rangers International F.C earlier scheduled to take place on Sunday, May 23, 2021, to be played now on Monday, May 24, 2021.
In an official correspondence with the management of the ‘Flying Antelopes’, Tuesday, May 18, 2021, the Chief Operating Officer of L.M.C, Salihu Abubakar gave reasons for the rearrangement to the logistics and television schedule.
The venue for the fixture remains ‘The Nest of Champions’, Godswill Akpabio stadium, Uyo with kickoff fixed for 4.00 pm.
Other fixtures that were affected by the rearrangement will see Rangers trading tackles with Jigawa Golden Stars on Thursday, May 27, 2021, instead of the earlier date of Wednesday, May 26, 2021, just as Abia Warriors and Akwa United also had some of their fixtures also rearranged.
The C.O.O urged teams involved in the rearrangement of their matches to ensure that all logistics and Covid-19 protocols are put in place for the matches.
