Life Station’s Molic Voices Concerns After 1-0 Loss in Above 45 Tournament

Following Life Station’s 1-0 defeat to Real Tony Tex in the Island All-Stars Above 45 tournament, Manu Awuchukwu Onyewuchi, affectionately known as Molic, shared his dissatisfaction with the match outcome in an interview with Sports247.

“I am very dissatisfied because what we expected to see in the program is not what we are seeing,” Molic expressed.

He elaborated on the tournament’s purpose, stating, “The idea of playing this Above 45 tournament is to create a funfair whereby older people who don’t train every time can participate… This tournament is meant to carry them along, allowing them to feel the joy of football.”

He criticized the inclusion of active players in the competition, which he believes undermines its spirit. “Where you see some people who play active football correlated to play, that is why I am dissatisfied with this game,” he said.

When asked about potential improvements for future tournaments, Molic urged the organizers to take note of his concerns.

“I want to use this medium to send a message to the organizers, the DOS, and the SMC to look into it so that we don’t create a wrong precedent going forward,” he stated.

“They should know that the Above 45 game is not for those who play active football, and it’s essential to protect the image and integrity of this Above 45 game.”

Molic’s comments highlight the ongoing need for clarity and fairness in recreational tournaments, particularly those aimed at older players.
