French Ligue 1 club LOSC Lille has reached an agreement with Ajax Amsterdam to sign Nigerian forward Chuba Akpom on loan.
Akpom, who joined Ajax two years ago after a successful spell with Middlesbrough in the English Championship, has found it difficult to secure consistent playing time at the Dutch club.
During this winter transfer window, multiple clubs, including Sunderland, showed interest in acquiring the striker.
However, reports from France confirm that Lille has successfully secured Akpom’s services on loan until the end of the season.
If the deal is finalized, Akpom will become the fourth Nigerian to play for Lille, following in the footsteps of notable players such as Vincent Enyeama, Osaze Odemwingie, and Victor Osimhen.
