Nigerian sensation, Terem Moffi continued his goalscoring form with two goals in Lorient’s 2-2 draw at AS Monaco in Sunday’s Ligue 1 clash, Sports247 reports.
The 21-year-old who scored Lorient’s winner in their midweek 2-1 Coup de France victory over Paris FC added his 8th and 9th goal of the season in all competitions against Monaco.
Moffi converted a 6th-minute spot-kick to put the visitors ahead at the Stade Louis II stadium after Congolese forward Yoane Wissa was brought down in the box.
Monaco came out attacking in numbers afterward but could not find an equalizer headed into the break.
The host would find their leveler a few minutes after the restart with a spot-kick of their own when Wissam Ben Yedder converted from 12-yards out.
In the 62nd minute, Moffi put his side back in front after skipping past a couple of challenges before firing home.
Ben Yeddar netted in the last seconds of the game to ensure both teams pick up a point from the encounter.
With the result, Lorient remains 17th in the Ligue 1 table with 23 points after 24 games – 1 point above the relegation zone.
Monaco stays in the fourth position with 49 points after the same number of games – 6 points less off PSG in the first place.
Elsewhere in France, Nigerian international Moses Simon was among the scorers for Nantes in their 3-1 win at Angers.
The win ended the Canaries 15-game winless run and puts them just a point below Lorient in the fight for survival.
