Super Eagles winger Moses Simon grabbed a goal and an assist in Nantes 3-1 win over Toulouse on Sunday.
Toulouse took the lead inside the first 15 minutes at the Beaujoire Stadium when Zakaria Aboukhlal found the back of the net from inside the box. The away side went into halftime with the lead.
Nantes equalized five minutes after the restart, thanks to Evann Guessand. Simon assisted the French striker. Guessand then turned provider, setting up Mostafa Mohamed to put Nantes ahead in the 55th minute.
At the hour mark, Simon scored a fine goal to put Nantes up 3-1. Mohamed assisted him. In four Ligue 1 appearances this season, the Nigerian has scored two goals and provided one assist.
Nantes is currently 11th in the league standings with five points. On Wednesday, August 31st, the Canaries will travel to Strasbourg for their next match.
Elsewhere in France, Terem Moffi bagged a brace to lead FC Lorient to a 2-1 home win over Clermont Foot. Moffi first converted from the spot in the 24th minute.
To score his second goal, the 23-year-old rounded the Clermont’s goalkeeper after breaking through from the halfway line. Both goals were his first two goals of the season.
Muhammed Cham Saračević scored a consolation for the away side in the second half.
Super Eagles midfielder Bonke Innocent was a late substitute for Lorient in the encounter.
Lorient is fifth in the table after four games, with seven points. Les Merlus will play their next game on Wednesday at RC Lens.
