Samuel Kalu was on the scoresheet for Girondins de Bordeaux in their 2-1 defeat at the hands of Olympique Lyon on Friday night, reports Sports247.
Starting on the right wing for Bordeaux, Kalu found the back of the net in the 55th minute to level proceedings at the Groupama stadium after Cameroon international Karl Toko Ekambi had put Lyon in front in the first half.
The Nigerian international rifled in a left-footed volley past Lyon’s goalkeeper to notch his third league goal of the season.
The goal looked to have earned Bordeaux a point but title-chasing Lyon dug deep to find the winner which moves them top of the Ligue 1 table.
Right-back Leo Dubois got the decisive goal with a well-drilled strike.
The result leaves Bordeaux 7th on the Ligue 1 table with 32 points after 22 games.
